Shell Grotto, another ancient mystery

The Shell Grotto: 4.6million shells, 70ft of winding underground passages leading to a rectangular chamber, 2000sqft of mosaic and one big mystery…

Shell Grotto

The story goes that in 1835 Mr James Newlove lowered his young son Joshua into a hole in the ground that had appeared during the digging of a duck pond. Joshua emerged describing tunnels covered with shells. He had discovered the Shell Grotto, its walls decorated with strange symbols mosaiced in millions of shells. Is it an ancient pagan temple? A meeting place for some secret cult? Nobody can explain who built this amazing place, or why, but since its accidental discovery visitors from all over the world have been intrigued by the beautiful mosaic and the unsolved mystery.

“Shellhenge…Awe-inspiring… a truly major national site.”

Time Out Book of Weekend Breaks

In truth, the Grotto’s discovery may or may not have involved duck ponds, shovels and small boys. A number of different stories have been told, and with nearly 180 years’ worth of exaggeration, embellishment and sheer deceit, there seems little chance of unpicking the gossip from the reality. However he came upon it, James Newlove could clearly see the commercial potential of his find. The Grotto opened its doors to the public in 1838, and came as something of a surprise to the people of Margate; it had never been marked on any map and there had been no tales of its construction told around the town.

Since the first paying customers descended the chalk stairway debate has raged about the Grotto’s origins: for every expert who believes it to be an ancient temple, there’s someone else convinced it was the meeting place for a secret sect; for every ardent pagan, there’s a Regency folly-monger ready to spoil their fun. At first glance the Grotto’s design only adds to the confusion, with humble cockles, whelks, mussels and oysters creating a swirling profusion of patterns and symbols. A storehouse for the imagination, there are any number of interpretations; trees of life, phalluses, gods, goddesses and something that looks very like an altar, to name but a few.

Release your mind

Release your mind!  Get centered!

Imagine that your head is a balloon filled with helium.

The rope that holds the balloon is is held buy a strong hand located in the center of your belly, the center of your physical being, the Tantien.

Aah, what a relief!

Doesn’t it feel good?

What is the Tantien?

It is the gravity center of the body and the inner energy pump.

Our heart is the blood pump in our body, and our tantien the chi energy pump.

This center can be used as a tool, as an inner hand, to make the chi or life energy flow in the body, to concentrate your chi energy, to protect yourself, and to find the right posture.

My Master Vlady Stevanovitch , describes in one of his books how being centered in his Tantien, saved his life during the second world war.

In his book he describes a scene that can give an image on how being centered can change events in sometimes miraculous ways.

Before leaving his Master to go and join the resistance, his master wanted to check if he is ready and asked him to stand and concentrate in his Tantien.

After a while his Master took a glass of water and threw the water in his direction.

At the same moment a violent wind opened the window….. read more here.

You’re welcome to join us, monday 9 AM, in Ein-Hod, Tai Chi time!

Our next workshop on how to release your mind: Chi energy techniques, relaxations, chi kung and magical passes.

Remembering the connection to life.

My first encounter with the Art of Chi

My first encounter with Czech art

The art of qigong, Tai Chi

I was 25 years old, student of architecture in Brussels.
Not like sports or aerobics, never quite connected, nor the body.
Out of the need to do something with the body, "applied to jazz Ballet Department at on the way home to old.
One day when I moved in the Hall Institute saw in another room, a small group practicing Tai Chi.
I didn't know anything about it.
But I felt when I looked at them, there was what I want and I miss him.
A week after I joined the dance team and Tai Chi
I fell in love!
In practice was that we would do a series of exercises and massage to stimulate circulation in your hands.
Then we just sit and listen, what's happening in the palms, waves, currents, eicatotim. We follow the trends towards the forearms and upper arms. We feel this thing and our life.
It was the moment of awakening, recalling the magic, this thing I knew as a child, and I sometime on the way to adulthood.

Since it's been 27 years.

Intensive training workshops, a new connection to the body

He knows how to balance itself.

He remembers the perfection and builds it.

He knows how to keep the youth.

It functions amazingly, trillions of cells that live in harmony with each other.

Life purpose and the choice of a partner

The quest after our life purpose is the reason behind any spiritual path.

life purpose

To discover it and allow it to happen is not easy.

It demands honesty and courage.

Just crossed a nice article called “Don’t date a mystic” by Alison Nappi.

The article examines a specific facet of the path to discover our life purpose, and if we really want it.

The choice of a partner and our life purpose

It is not easy to live with someone who sees through you.
A person who understands the deepest processes we go through and how we resist to see them, and surrender.
A seer who knows what our soul needs and what our real purpose is.
A partner who wouldn’t let you rest into your fears and wont let you justify your resistance to growth.

Answering the question about our willingness to live with such a person, also gives you the answer on the real question:

Are you willing to surrender to your life purpose, to the purpose which brought you to this incarnation?
